started enjoying reading lately

Lately I've been buying books!
A lot of books, i guess. i don't know why i suddenly started enjoying reading, but it's a good thing since now i have a better hobby instead of doomscrolling.

Although i did say i wanted to try reading to help me focus and stop doomscrolling, it was hard at first because my mental health has been kind of in shambles. but taking my meds does help me stay focused and less distracted.

Anyway, i don't think i'll read anything too crazy for now. i've just been buying a lot of english classic books and works by classic authors to get started.

i'm also planning to get more non-fiction books to diversify my reading.

Ooh, glad to hear you’ve been finding some fulfillment! I’ve also been spending a probably-too-pretty penny on some (e-)books as of late, funnily enough—RPG rulebooks/sourcebooks, though, more precisely; I’ve been looking around for a fair few months now for my ideal system(s + supplements) to sink my teeth into solo roleplaying with, which has admittedly so far led to me spending more time sifting through old forum threads for secondhand advice and guidance than looking proper at all the actual PDFs I’ve purchased at this point.

Overall, as a diversion it’s oscillated between fun and frustrating…
