I use this blog primarily for incredibly long posts/ramblings, an essay, reviews, discussion, and impressions on media/fannish/subcultures.
I mostly write on my thoughts on media, personal blogging and occasionally might talk about discourse/politic (but I try to tone this down).
Not only that, but I am also fandom/otaku oldies....so I generally tend to aligned with older fandom cultures than modern one.
Also, I recently want to broaden my horizon to talk about other interests, other subcultures and non-japanese media!

As an otaku, I am primarily interested in Japanese media such as anime, manga, Japanese games, and its subcultures. I also have multiple fandoms and shippers! As a result, I prefer to talk a lot about my other interests.

While I don't usually publish NSFW content, don't be surprised if I do bring it up, because I'm a pervert *cough*
I also enjoy dead dove content, transgressive media, and some problematic fetish (albeit my tastes tend to be more vanilla).
I have a lot of fandom/series I am into, so I don't think I will list it, lol. Anyway, this is my diary & personal journal where I can write whatever I want!

I finally bought Handora thanks to that sweet Steam discount! I’d been wanting to play it for about half a year because it looked interesting and fun, so I decided to get Handora as my Christmas present.

So, Monolith Soft Twitter account has just published an interview on their website about their relationship with Nintendo and their involvement in Zelda game development. At first, I only wanted to write my impressions, but then I realized this could become lost media in the future. So I decided to archive it, just in case they omit or delete this interview—similar to how the Takahashi interview with Iwata was removed from Nintendo’s website.

I have copy-pasted the original Japanese text in case anyone wants to read it. I have also included a translation with the help of DeepL and other translation tools. Because of this, the translation is not fully accurate, and I strongly encourage people to consult someone who understands Japanese for a more accurate translation. This is only a tentative translation for those who want a general idea of what was discussed, as well as for my own curiosity and self-indulgence, lol. Please do not take the translation at face value, and I would prefer that it not be cited. Feel free to comment if there's any mistake!

It’s been a while since I've written on this site. How's everyone doing? I'm somewhere between fine and not (LMAO). Well, don't worry, I will write about what I've been doing and what's happened to me these last few months.

At first, I wanted to make this a Murmur, but I think it's too long for that tag, since Murmurs are mostly just for short yapping. This is closer to a diary or journal entry, so I'll just write it as a "Journaling" post—a long-form piece about my personal life (mostly).

Anyway, I haven't really been feeling healthy this month but don't worry, it's nothing serious! Just a seasonal flu, especially with the awful weather lately (it's been pouring rain where I live, welp). I'm already getting better now, so yeah, I haven't done many thanks to my sickness, wwww.

Recently, with modern social media becoming more unfriendly for long-form posting & archiving, I really think people should give blogging platforms a try!
Seeing my mutuals on Twitter making long-ass threads for reviews, essays, or thoughts is kinda painful to look at because Twitter’s format is simply not really great for long-form posts. Not to mention how hard it is to archive posts these days, with how volatile modern social media has become, where you can randomly get suspended over nothing or their AI police acts up.

So that’s where blogging & journaling become useful! You can write in long form without character limit restrictions, and sometimes it’s great to archive some of your thoughts/reviews/essays/media lists in blog posts! No more weird clogged-up Twitter threads or messy FB posts.

Okay, since I’ve been wanting to review some works made by Asada Nemui, and I’m also in an Asada Nemui re-read mode because I want to make a tier list of her works, I decided to revisit them to properly give an actual review. I decided to start with Sleeping Dead, as I feel it’s one of Asada-sensei’s works that I didn’t fully understand back then. When I first read it, I found it compelling—a good slow-burn angst—but after seeing many people’s analyses, I felt like I missed something and didn’t see the work properly. So, I reread it in order to review it more thoroughly.

The story starts with our protagonist, Sada Seiji, who is a teacher and a suave gentleman popular with the ladies. One day, Sada goes on patrol after hearing news that a student from his school has disappeared at night. During his patrol, he accidentally witnesses someone killing his student, and the killer immediately murders him as well. Sada thinks he’s going to die and perhaps he really does—until he opens his eyes and finds his body tied up in a strange room filled with live specimens. Beside him stands a mad scientist named Mamiya, who tells him that he resurrected him. Yes, Sada was revived from the dead; he becomes what people would call a “zombie.” This story explores the complicated yet miserable relationship between Mamiya and Sada.

That’s the gist of the story. it’s basically about a dead human being revived as a zombie. However, beneath that premise lies a compelling story about the nuances of love, revenge, how trauma shapes people, and an exploration of romantic relationships through the lens of aromanticism. I really want to talk about this because I don’t see many people who reviewed Sleeping Dead discussing it in this way.

Seeing Iruma fans dissing Madan no Ichi because it's not as great as Iruma is kinda err.....
I mean, Iruma managed to be that good because:

It was serialized in a forgiving magazine. Shonen Champion is less competitive, unlike WSJ.
Iruma has more than, like, 400 chapters to build its characters and stuff. It's not fair to compare it to Ichi, which is still at 50 chapters.
If Iruma were serialized in WSJ, people would fucking shit on it because of the extremely slow pacing & lame school SoL. It would be fucking axed before reaching volume 2.

Also, Nishi just did what she could under Jump's grip. It's amazing already that Ichi reached chapter 50, especially after Jump constantly axed many new series in less than chapter 20–30. And besides, Ichi is still great, and Nishi just wanted to try a different approach to her storytelling. I know people might dislike it, but Madan no Ichi’s pacing & writing are pretty fitting for WSJ’s style. So it's not like she had any choice here.

If anything I just PRAY her Jump editor will not fuck up by meddling too much with Nishi's vision, god, so many popular series took nosedive in quality because Jump editor fucking loves to meddling too much, just look at what happened to Kagurabachi.

It’s been a while since I did another media overview post as I’ve been incredibly BUSY IRL.

I just noticed I don’t watch a lot of anime these days, maybe because most of them are isekai & villainness story lol. But I’m thinking of watching a couple of yuri anime soon (like watanare). Anyway, ikz

Man, after seeing Bluesky’s new guidelines, it’s really frustrating how strict they’ve become with sexual content. Banning things like non-con depictions, taboo or transgressive kinks, and more.
I genuinely don’t understand why they’re doing this when they’ve been advertising themselves as a platform friendly to artists and NSFW creators, only to suddenly pull something like this.

But honestly, Bluesky isn’t the first one to go down this path. Cohost already tried being restrictive toward certain adult content, and before that, Tumblr started it all with its infamous porn ban.
