[Rant] persona fans being annoying

Sometimes, it's annoying to see tenderqueer zoomer Persona fans act like Persona is this ~queer~ friendly series while dismissing other JRPGs for not being queer enough. for example, Xenoblade.
Look, I have no issue if you think Persona is gay as hell or has a hidden queer agenda or something. But acting like it's the most queer video game series out there, when the franchise has multiple instances of homophobic rhetoric and stereotypes, is fucking annoying. Especially when these same zoomer tenderqueer Persona fans have the gall to call other JRPG titles "not queer enough."

In the case of Xenoblade, it's funny to me. Yeah, Xenoblade is straight as fuck, but I’ve never seen the game include queerphobic talking points or stereotypes. Most queer-coded characters in Xenoblade are also depicted in a very sympathetic manner.
Fujobait and yuribait Xenoblade ships mog any so-called "queer" representation in Persona. To the point, I think I find more meaningful LGBT portrayal from freakin' Xenoblade yaoi/yuri bait undertones.

It's so weird how zoomer Atlus fans want to convince themselves that their favorite series is queer-friendly, when almost every Atlus series has a lot of homophobic undertones. Even P2 has a transphobic NPC.
Like, I have no problem if they enjoy the series or want to see queer readings in it. But most of them seem to be in denial or unable to accept that parts of Persona or Atlus games do have queerphobic undertones more so than, say, the infamous XB3 baby scene.

I wouldn’t give a shit if these people didn’t act so smug and holier-than-thou toward other JRPG series, lol.

I think it's weird how people in the west pick and choose which Japanese/Eastern media has "good queer rep" and which is all badwrongevil. Persona 4 is one of those instances people talk about being "great rep for trans men," but the character is not a trans man? And her gender expression and storyline is based on Japanese themes, which people in the West do not understand at all. Like trying to explain that no, "otokonoko" does not translate 1:1 with "trans woman" in English, it's its own thing! But the cultural erasure is real...

But I'm saying that as a trans dude who loved Catherine, so, perhaps I am the terrible one. XD

So much this, but expand "Atlus fans" to "western fans of animanga/manwha/anything not made by westerners"
